Questions about email verification.
Using the API
Can I use this on my signup form?
Yes. Use a domain-restricted public key for address checks in your browser, or call the API from your server. Keep secret keys and mailbox verification on your server. The integration guides on this page include working examples.
What do address checks include?
Format, domain, consumer mailbox, role, disposable, reserved domain type, and a typo suggestion when we have one. Those ride the normal request pool.
Can I suggest an email correction?
A suggested address when the host is a known misspelling of a real mail host. gmal.com becomes gmail.com. Null when we have no suggestion. Never a guess, and never a local-part fix.
Which countries are supported?
Address checks work worldwide. Mailbox results depend on what the receiving mail system can confirm. A catchall domain or an unavailable answer can leave a mailbox unconfirmed.
Can I run a list?
Use Bulk Email to upload a CSV or spreadsheet. Preview the results, then see the exact price before you pay.
How is lookup data handled?
API usage records can include request paths and query parameters, including lookup inputs. Request records currently have no fixed automatic deletion period. Our Privacy Policy explains retention and how to request access or deletion.
Verification and cost
What does mailbox verification check?
Deliverable and catchall, a mailbox status and reason, and address details such as a suggested first name and mail provider. Unavailable details stay null. One unit from the monthly email allowance. Free includes 100 a month. See Plans for additional lookup rates.
What is a catchall?
A domain that accepts mail for any local part. Deep flags it so you can treat that inbox as unverified.
Does a valid address mean I can send?
valid describes the address format. Domain checks and mailbox verification add separate signals. A deliverable result does not guarantee inbox placement, consent, or that an address belongs to a particular person.
What if the mailbox check does not complete?
HTTP 200 with deliverable and catchall null. The unit is not billed. That is not a miss.
How fresh is a verification?
A lookup can reuse an earlier mailbox check. Deliverable results can be reused for 7 days, catchall results for 30 days, and undeliverable results for 90 days. A cached response can remain for up to another day.
How are API checks priced?
Address checks use your plan's API requests. Mailbox verification has its own monthly allowance, including 100 on Free. An incomplete mailbox check is not billed. Plans shows included quantities and additional lookup rates.
