Search by task, endpoint, field, or error.
Make your first request.
Parse your User-Agent as JSON. No API key needed.
Start with a live lookup, see what comes back, then use the same pattern in your application.
Run a lookup
Run it here to identify your browser, or copy the command into your terminal to identify curl.
curl https://api.parseapi.com/useragentRead the result
A successful lookup returns HTTP 200 and a JSON object with these fields.
- useragent
- The original User-Agent string sent by the client.
- device, os, browser
- The detected device type, operating system and browser. A
nullvalue means that detail could not be identified. - bot, mobile
- True or false flags for a recognized bot or mobile client.
After running, expand deep in the response to see more device and browser detail. Read the full User-Agent reference.
Call another API
Copy a secret key from your dashboard and save it in your terminal environment as PARSEAPI_KEY. This request splits a name into useful fields.
How to set the key in your terminal
Run export PARSEAPI_KEY='your-secret-key', replacing your-secret-key with the key you copied. Then run the request below in the same terminal.
curl "https://api.parseapi.com/name/Ada%20Lovelace" \
-H "X-API-Key: $PARSEAPI_KEY" \
-H "Parse-Version: 2.0.0"The key goes in X-API-Key. Parse-Version pins the response contract your app expects. Keep secret keys on your server. For a browser or mobile app, choose the matching key type.
