Run it once. Take the result anywhere.
Drop in the workflow.
Open a workflow in n8n. From its three-dot menu, choose Import from File and select the download. Three connected nodes are ready on your canvas.
Connect your key.
Get a secret key from API keys. Open Check email and create a Header Auth credential. Set Name to X-API-Key and Value to your key, then save and select it.
Authentication is already set to Generic Credential Type. Your key lives in the credential, separate from the workflow.
Run it. Build on it.
Click Execute workflow and open the output of Check email. Change the input in Example email, then connect your next node and map the response fields you need.
For example, an If node can branch on disposable. Keep unknown values separate from false.
Core checks use your monthly request allowance. They describe email format and domain signals, not mailbox existence. The starter leaves the separately metered deep=true mailbox check off. Explore Email.
Errors, unknowns and the next lookup
For invalid_api_key, check the selected credential and its X-API-Key header. Inspect non-200 responses before passing data to another step. See the error reference.
valid checks the format. domain_valid checks mail routing. Keep null as unknown. Choose another endpoint from the API reference and keep the same credentials and version header.
